Savannah to Brunswick

First, an update. The restaurant of unknown cuisine in Savannah turned out to be named "Lady and the Sons". When we arrived there people were lined up on both sides of the streets waiting to get in. Pouring rain kept customers huddled under every bit of overhead cover. Mary Kate had called ahead and gotten reservations, so our wait was minimal. The restaurant was a three story builing with home cooked buffet the specialty.

The meal was very good. This restaurant has been featured on Good Morning America, and the owner has her own cooking TV show.

Today saw warmer temperatures and a very flat run to Brunswick. Bruce, Perry, and Richard left early to get to Brunswick in time for Gator football kickoff. Remaining riders left 30 minutes later. The ride itself was uneventful.

Dinner tonight was at a seafood/sportbar, Spanky's. After the meal we returned to our motel to sign posters and shirts which will be distributed to a variety of organizations and individuals. Tomorrow we will finally return to Florida at Fernandina Beach via ferry from Saint Marys. The end is near!

Oooooh, lucky YOU!!! You got to eat at Paula Deen's place. I've seen many of her shows and her food looks fabulous. You did remember to eat that one bite for me, didn't you? By the way, smart of you to stay out of the cold, wet weather. Keep well.
