After an uneventful but challenging 73 miles, all riders arrived at Chattanooga. We met at Blood Assurance, a large supplier of blood products to Chattanooga and surrounding area. This company has a daily need for 400 units of blood, and manages to meet that demand. Part of their success may be attributed to their colorful blood drive buses, one of which is shown here.
We were given a tour of the facilities after a generously diverse Italian meal. One of the board members is also a male breast cancer survivor. Perry McGriff is shown here testing the comfort of one of the pharesis chairs.
Tomorrow we turn southward to Guntersville. We are expecting local riders to accompany us for part of the ride, a distance of 77 miles. The weather is clear and somewhat cool. Fall foliage is beginning to be visible in the higher elevations.
